EV CHARGING NETWORK

SAGE completed its role in the Electric Nation project, a $13.4M initiative in partnership with the American Lung Association, to build the Upper Midwest Inter-Tribal EV Charging Community Network. SAGE successfully installed 13 EV charging stations across Standing Rock (plus one at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, ND), delivered a full workforce training program, and earned formal recognition at the Electric Nation project wrap event.

GOALS

Lower Transportation Costs

By lowering the burden of transportation costs, the charging network makes electric vehicles accessible to the Standing Rock Nation.

Encourage Clean Mobility

Installing a corridor of EV chargers allows us to create systems of clean mobility across rural MN, ND, and SD, improving access to long-distance destinations and new job opportunities.

Modernize Infrastructure

Building a modern EV charging network is a vital step in SAGE’s fight against fossil fuel infrastructure, setting a new standard for communities to thrive in harmony with nature.

Long-Term Ethical Sustainability

The transition to EVs is the first step on an extensive, complex journey to sustainability, representing our unwavering dedication to ethical environmental practices.

PROGRESS

SAGE completed the EV Charging Network. DC fast chargers were installed at the Tribal Administration building, Standing Rock Community School, and Grand River Casino, as well as Level 2 chargers at multiple additional sites, totaling 13 stations across Standing Rock. SAGE also delivered hands-on EV and charging education to youth and community members throughout the year.
