ANPETU WI WIND FARM
We are building a 235MW wind farm that prioritizes people, land, and nature over profit. Join us as we work to provide clean energy and economic growth to the people of Standing Rock for generations.
GOALS
Historic Impact
Anpetu Wi is the first Native-owned utility-scale energy project in the United States with a historic Developer Service Agreement (DSA) that enables Standing Rock to retain ownership and maximize revenue of the wind farm. Anpetu Wi is a transformative energy project paving the way for other communities.
Economic Impact
The project is expected to generate more than $100M in revenue over 25 years. This substantial income will be reinvested into SAGE’s community-serving projects, amplifying our impact on local development.
Employment and Training
SAGE prioritizes hiring and training Tribal members and regional workers, focusing on building skills and providing employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
Long-Term Wellbeing
The Anpetu Wi Wind Farm represents a strategic investment in the future wealth and wellbeing of the Standing Rock Nation. This initiative paves the way for long-term economic resilience and growth for generations.
Empowering Self-Determination
Because we have financial autonomy in Anpetu Wi, SAGE will be able to choose how to reinvest revenue from the project with the input of the community.
PROGRESS
SAGE is the first Indigenous community-owned public power authority to lead the development of a utility-scale renewable energy wind project. We’ve been successfully navigating the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) interconnection queue—the procedure by which an energy project connects its energy asset to the physical grid—demonstrating strong preparation, technical expertise, and financial readiness.
