The sun has always been a symbol of hope and life for Standing Rock Nation and now, it promises a new type of empowerment: the potential of solar energy. With solar energy, we illuminate our path forward, ensuring a legacy that respects our past and safeguards the future. The installation of 10 solar arrays is the first step in a community-scale solar project aimed at integrating sustainable energy solutions across all 8 districts of the Standing Rock Nation.
GOALS
Workforce Development
SAGE is dedicated to nurturing a robust workforce for the future of sustainability. This initiative equips community members with essential skills and creates jobs within the renewable energy sector.
Community Savings
Revenue from energy and Renewable Energy Credits will be directed back to Tribal members for significant savings for the community.
Energy Independence
With solar energy, we produce our own power and access long-term savings, a significant step in becoming even more self-sufficient.
Bridging Past and Future
Adopting solar energy is a dance between our time-honored values and the needs of future generations. Solar energy embraces our ancestors’ teachings in a rapidly evolving world.
PROGRESS
SAGE completed the installation of 10 solar arrays across the region and finalized all financial and administrative closeout for the project. SAGE also launched the Investment Tax Credit (Elective Pay) process for all 10 installations, directly reinvesting those returns into future SAGE projects and community programs.
Initial Community Solar installations in Head Start Buildings and District Buildings ensure our Elders and children receive the first benefits in line with SAGE’s values.
